In November 2007 Tom Baert created the short piece 'The urgency of the colour red' for the dance platform 12 Min. Max. at the 'Tanzhaus Zürich'. Shortly after creation this solo work was awarded as one of the 5 best Swiss short pieces, and it was shown at several dance festivals in Switzerland, Germany and Belgium thereafter. Because of the overwhelming success, Tom Baert decided to make a full evening production out of this solo. COLOURBLIND Isn't it blinding? All those colours? Or are you just colourblind? 'Colourblind' is a physical theatre production of Cie. URTO. In this solo performance, the Belgian dancer/actor Tom Baert plays the character of Anton. The central question of the trilogy is " What is Harmony?" The three short pieces are showing different phases of Anton's' emotions. A lot of things happen during his journey to find harmony; funny anecdotes, dreams, love stories en the realization of how difficult it is to keep it all in balance and so thus in harmony. 'Colourblind' will première at the Amsterdam Fringe Festival on the 8 september 2010 starting at 19.00 in 'het Veemtheater' in Amsterdam. Further more performances are taking place on the: 9 & 11 september 2010 starting at 21.30 in 'het Veemtheater' 10 september 2010 starting at 19.00 in 'het Veemtheater' You can reserve tickets via www.amsterdamfringefestival.nl and at the central box office of the festival Theater Bellevue.
